Appearance: Sam is described as having long, rounded muscles, a very deep voice, an older face, copper skin, cropped black hair and brown eyes. Like the other werewolves in human form, Sam is described as being quite tall.

Also, in the New Moon movie, Sam, like all werewolves, has a large tattoo on his upper right arm. As a wolf, Sam is described as having black fur. He is huge, quiet as a shadow, tall as a horse but more muscular, with dagger-like incisors. He has a grisly snarl and is very swift. It is also said to be the second largest wolf, smaller only than Jacob. In Eclipse Quil said "So that's why Sam's all black" "Black Heart, Black Fur".

Personality: SAM is highly protective of his pack and family he is described by pack members as the brains and sensible one SAM being a ex alfa can have an explosive temper if provoked but is a very laid back werewolf otherwise he treasures his family and pack before anything else he is loving and kind natured.

Dreams: Sam left behind all dreams for the future including a college scholarship to stay on the reservation and become its protector. but now he lives for his son and the hope that his wife will once again return to him. he loves his pack and dreams of a care free world where all humans and super natural creatures can maybe live in harmony but until then he is forced to protect his pack and family from the dangers beyond la push and the safety of the reservation

Past: nobody outside of the reservation really knows much about Sam but have been told of his loyalty to his pack. those in the pack will tell of his anguish after his agonizing split with his childhood sweetheart Leah Clearwater. both of whom where heartbroken but SAM could not help what he felt towards his ex fiancée she bares the scars of standing to close to sam when he shifted to wolf form after this he tried to live for her every moment and he truly believed he had imprinted upon her. when renessme was born she happened to have a twin sister whom Sam imprinted on. her name was Blair Madison Raiden Malik he followed her to a dangerous place and was tortured and beaten to afraid to shift in to human form this was the voltori. now years on he has a 15 yr old son named talsa his wife Blair disappeared leaving him to raise his son on his own his pack does not know of his betrayal but with his son coming of age he fears all of the secrets may be about to surface and upset the fragile balance of the pack and his beta place
